In Yoga class, we connect deep, rhythmic breathing with slow, controlled, sustained movements. This calms the mind, opens the heart and helps us learn to live more fully in the present moment. Yoga is a compassionate and non-competitive method of discipline. This is your personal journey that takes consistency and practice; accept where you are and appreciate the moment. Experience inner and outer transformation as your mental clarity, balance, strength and flexibility develop.
Please:
• Do not eat for 2 hours before class; have a light snack (fruit) if needed.
• Be early to class; bring your own mat.
• Wear comfortable exercise clothes that move with you; nothing baggy. Refrain from wearing perfume.
• Remove shoes at the door; we practice in our bare feet.
• Turn off your cell phone or leave in the car.
• Notify one of us before class if you have a health issue (injury or medical condition).
• Do not come to class if you are ill.
All classes are 75 minutes and end with Savasana, a time of stillness and rest.
Hot Flow
Level 2-3 class that links breath with movement. A dynamic flow, this practice combines powerful Vinyasa with deep Yin-style stretching. The room is heated to sweat toxins and stress out of your body and mind. Also, great for weight loss. Bring a towel and plenty of water.
Vinyasa Flow
'Vinyasa' means "to move with the breath". This fun and fluid moving class will cleanse and recharge the body, focusing the mind in moving meditation. Ideal for those who enjoy a challenge.
All Levels
Open to everyone, this class integrates the principles of alignment into a Vinyasa flow practice. This style allows students to take their practice to the next level, preparing them for more challenging poses. Some prior Yoga experience is helpful, but not necessary. The teacher will assist newer students with modifications during class.
Gentle Yoga
A great starting place, this gentle class helps you relax, stretch and build strength and stamina. Wonderful for anyone wanting a peaceful yet effective practice. This class is perfect for those just beginning to practice or for those who prefer a less challenging class. Also, ideal for seniors and persons with health concerns. Class includes the use of props and the teacher will offer modifications to the poses as needed.
Private Sessions
A 30 or 55-minute Private session is an excellent way to gain a foundation for your practice: greatly enhances knowledge of poses, confidence and correct alignment. Highly recommended for all new students. Available by appointment.
